Massage is a fundamental form of therapy. When you hurt yourself, instinctively you rub the affected area. So the use of massage in alleviating pain of tired, overused muscles is very common.

A good massage is not a “rubdown.” A masseur must have a good knowledge of body anatomy and physiology, as well as study of the various massage techniques, including Swedish massage. The female and the male have different bodies requiring an adaptation of the technique. We specialize in working with the male body.

Swedish massage was begun by Dr. Hinrik Ling in Sweden in the 1700’s. He developed a system of movement that gave the foundation for the Swedish massage technique: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement, and vibration.

It is a major misunderstanding that an effective massage has to be painful. Perhaps some degree of soreness may result in a very sensitive body. The painful massage only leaves you black and blue and with the erroneous impression that it is good. But the effect is short-lasting and, rather, leaves more discomfort than benefits that the real massage should give.

A strong, deep massage is often thought of as a sports massage. It is applicable for the man of sports who has accumulated a lot of lactic acid in the muscle fibers, resulting in spastic or painful cramps. In that case, the pressure on the muscles will help to milk the cramp. Some men prefer strong massage.

Therapeutic massage is recommended by the physician to increase circulation and help heal injuries. It should never be done in areas of inflammation, open wounds, or varicose veins. A knowledgeable therapist will apply all these considerations to their clients.

Relaxation massage is highly recommended for today’s man who is tense, nervous, and tired from the stresses of modern life and work. It is the form of massage most often requested by our clients. We have a special technique and trained hands to produce the desired results. This massage is soothing and aims to induce total relaxation. And when done before bedtime, it is a great gift to your sleeping hours, which allows you to drift into a deep sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and full of energy. In this type of massage, the atmosphere in the room should be conducive to relaxation by candle light or dim light with aroma therapy, soft music, and a very clean ambiance on a comfortable table.
